Review about Zecco's Website, Trading Platforms & CommunityI spend a sizable chunk of my day doing forex trading. There are a lot of different forex trading websites, some a lot better than others, and many quite similar to each other in the features they offer and the speed of their trades. Like online stock brokers, most of the best forex trading websites offer quite similar rates and applications, only with subtle differences. Since this is the case, finding the best forex trading company comes down to the quality of their particular software, their rates, and any utilities they offer. This article will review Zecco Trading's utilities and forex trading applications. Zecco's websiteZecco uses a fairly modern website design. I loaded it in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer 8. It seems to work best and load fastest in Firefox, and lag a bit in Google Chrome. There are a lot of images on the page, so if you are irked by sometimes choppy loading times, Zecco's web interface may bother you. The website reloads all of the images every time you navigate somewhere, which can be very annoying if your internet connection or computer is lagging. The very best websites will not do this, and keep this kind of loading to a minimum. With that said, Zecco's web site is intuitive enough and is easy to navigate. Other than the loading, you should not have any undue sort of problems with the website.Zecco's Forex trading website has some nifty guides to help you get started with Forex trading. They offer some no nonsense tutorials and will teach you, step by step, how to execute forex trades, the intricacies of the trades, who makes these trades, and what sorts of trades are typically profitable. Of course, it takes a good deal of time and experience to develop an instinct for profitable forex trading, but these types of guides never hurt. Zecco also offers a free foreign exchange practice trading account with $50,000 of play money, which is a great way to get your feet wet. With Zecco practice account, you can hone your strategies and get used to the speed at which forex trading occurs. Just practicing these two things are a great way to increase your earnings, particularly for a beginner. Always remember though that a free practice account will never, ever prepare you for the psychological intricacies and feelings that come with trading with real money. Just as with poker, playing with real money as opposed to play money is an entirely different game. The difference is that with forex trading, you can play around with different technical trading strategies, familiarize yourself with charts and charting philosophy, learn the types of calculations that you need to make in real time, and so on. To get started with a practice account at Zecco Forex Trading, visit [www.zecco.com/forex/start.html]. On the right side of the screen you can find the form to open a free practice account, which offers all of the same tools that are contained in Zecco's real money accounts. Here is an Interview with Zecco CEO - Zecco.com Makes Retail Push Zecco's platformsMost experienced forex traders know that a platform will make or break a forex trading company. This actually goes for most financial services companies, as firms that provide the most intuitive and most reliable trading platforms tend to maintain the happiest customers. I played around with Zecco's two trading platforms: their web platform, and their software platform.ForexTrader WebZecco's web trading platform is dubbed ForexTrader Web. Unfortunately, it does not support Google Chrome (it did seem to load in my Google Chrome window, but with financial platforms I like to make sure I use a supported application), so I loaded Firefox and got started. ForexTrader Web, like most web trading platforms today, uses PUSH technology to provide real time quotes. Zecco's web trading platform is particularly snazzy, as my charts and open positions updated in real time with no lag whatsoever. When my computer is laggy, most web platforms start to become problematic, but Zecco's ForexTrader Web seems to have been efficiently designed, as it did not lag my computer whatsoever and performed admirably even under tough conditions. They offer all of the tools I could conceive of. I was creating custom charts and adding variables in real time in Zecco's web platform, which is much superior to many of their competitors. I'd recommend this if you use a web platform.ForexTrader DesktopFor more serious traders (though web technology is advancing rapidly), Zecco offers ForexTrader Desktop, which is a stand alone installable program. I installed the program and got started right away. Installation was completely pain free, and the program takes up very little memory. Like Zecco's ForexTrader Web, the program performs admirably under stressful computer situations and does not cause undue amounts of lag or slowdown. ForexTrader Desktop's user interface is extremely intuitive. In no time at all, I was creating multiple charts and tabbing between them. Everything was updated in real time, which should be expected in a trading platform by now, and I found it very easy to customize my charts how I wanted to. Additionally, ForexTrader Desktop offered an extremely customizable user interface, which I find to be very important. You can drag your charts and graphs around and play with the layout and organization of your main page. This is a very powerful feature, and I'm sure most hardcore forex traders will enjoy it.For those of you who are in to the programming and hard math aspect of forex trading, Zecco's desktop application also offers interfacing with third party programs. ForexTrader Desktop will easily accept orders from your third party programs, and generally seemed to interface without any hitches. This is an extremely powerful utility, and is essential for executing certain types of trading strategies. I was even able to use a program I've developed to alter ForexTrader Desktop's pattern of automated trades. Pulling that off made me a little giddy, especially when thinking about some of the trouble I've had with trading platforms in the past. I'm really glad that Zecco offers this, and it gives them a significant leg up compared to their competitors. Unlike with Zecco's clunky website, I was extremely happy with their two trading platforms. Their ForexTrader Web application is seamless, smooth to use, and extremely useful for more casual users, or executing trades from a computer other than your own. Their Forextrader Desktop is powerful, customizable, and has a low computer overhead. For Zecco's applications alone, I would highly recommend the company. ZeccoShare - Zecco Forex Trading CommunityZecco Trading also has a forex trading community, which I spent some time getting familiar with. Zecco Trading's "community" splash page contains a snapshot of the market's activity, a listing of recent news articles, a link to Zecco's forums, and a number of user groups and forums that are accessible. As with the website, the community page is a little disorganized and slow to load. However, with a little bit of time, it is possible to figure out where everything is and what is going on with Zecco's forex trading community.Zecco Trading's community page, dubbed "ZeccoShare," is a great tool to have. The trading groups are made up of some very knowledgeable traders who are not afraid of sharing their strategies, discussing the optimization of strategies, and even offering up useful algorithms and formulas. Exploring ZeccoShare would be a great way for a new trader or an intermediate trainer to learn about new strategies, effective trading, and some of the ins and outs of forex trading. ZeccoShare also has a good deal of forums with a thriving community. I was able to find some very intelligent discussion on economics and finance, market movement, and a lot more. A community style site like the one that Zecco Trading offers is a great way to improve your trading skills. Even though the best way to get better is to do more trading, there is also a lot to learn from other people. For example, there's a thread right now on ZeccoShare about an optimal penny stock trading strategy, what sort of charts you need to set up in order to perform it, and how to get started. There is also data on how profitable the posters are, so you always know whether somebody is blowing steam out of his you know what or not. To get a similar level of detail and information, it would take buying consulting time with a serious trader, which can be a very expensive prospect. Zero Commission Forex Exchange TradingZecco's rates: Zecco offers great rates on forex trading and some of the best rates that I've seen for overall stock market trading. Forex trading is essentially free--Zecco charges no commission, so your only charge is the dealing spread. Compare this with your bank and you'll find that you're saving a ton of money on every trade that you make. Zecco also offers ten commission-free stock market trades every month, and $4.50 trades after that. Their options cost only $4.50 and $.50 per contract. These are some of the very best rates in the business, that are better than or competitive with discount brokerages and amazingly cheap compared to traditional brokerage houses, which tend to charge in the area of $20 to $30 per trade.Overall, if you can get past Zecco's slightly clunky website (I'll bet anything they change it soon), Zecco Forex Trading offers an amazing package of two great trading platforms, best in the business rates, and a great user community. As a trader who spends some six hours a day trading and extracts his primary livelihood from trading, I give Zecco my highest recommendation. |
